At TheaterHotel De Oranjerie, sustainability is highly valued. In our restaurants, we consciously choose fish from responsible fishing and pay attention to seasonality. We proudly carry the Golden Green Key certification. This way, we ensure quality with respect for people, animals, and the environment.

Vis&Seizoen - Good Fish, Right Season

Worldwide, the consumption of fish is increasing, with disastrous consequences for fish stocks. At Cerise Grand Buffet and Grand Café Cerise, we therefore only choose fish from sustainable fishing. Seasonal fishing and consumption are essential to maintain and restore fish populations worldwide.

Vis&Seizoen Foundation contributes to this by promoting sustainable fish consumption and only promoting fishing in the right season. The greater the awareness, the greater the chance of recovery and preservation of various fish species.

Even fish with a sustainability label is not always responsible to eat throughout the whole year. The rule is simple: leave the fish alone during the spawning period.

The Vis&Seizoen Foundation has compiled a 100% Vis&Seizoen assortment based on strict criteria: the right season, sustainable fishing techniques, a healthy population, and high-quality standards. This assortment consists of MSC- or ASC-certified fish or fish approved by the Good Fish Foundation.

Green Key is a globally recognized certification for sustainable businesses in the hotel and leisure industry. This certification indicates that we make every effort to minimize the impact of our operations on nature and the environment. We go beyond the requirements of laws and regulations. To maintain Green Key certification, we continue to work on further sustainability of our products.
